πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ύ Born & Raised in Ayia Napa

Hi, I'm Alex.
This is my home.

I was born and raised in Ayia Napa. I've spent my whole life here β€” in the water, on the roads, in the restaurants, at the sea caves. ChatCyprus is my way of sharing all of it with you.

A local who actually knows this place

I wasn't born into tourism β€” I was born into Ayia Napa. My family has run a car rental, buggy, quad and bicycle business here my whole life. I grew up watching tourists arrive wide-eyed and leave with stories they'd tell for years.

I know every beach, every shortcut, every restaurant worth eating at, every boat captain by name. I know which sunset spot nobody else uses and what the taxi to the airport should actually cost.

ChatCyprus is just me β€” doing digitally what I've always done in person. Helping people have a genuinely great time here.

Why I built ChatCyprus

Working in tourism my whole life, I've watched thousands of tourists arrive in Ayia Napa and make the same mistakes β€” booking overpriced tours through hotel desks, not knowing about the sea caves until their last day, paying double for a taxi.

Every time I helped someone in person β€” pointed them to the right beach, got them on the right boat, told them which buggy rental to trust β€” they'd thank me like I'd done something incredible. But all I'd done was share what I already knew.

"Ayia Napa gets a bad reputation as just a party place. But there is so much more here β€” the beauty of Cape Greco, the sea caves, the sunsets, the food, the people. I built ChatCyprus to show people the real side of this place."

Everything on ChatCyprus is my genuine opinion. I don't write something because someone paid me. I write it because I know it's true and I know it'll help you.

Outside of ChatCyprus

A few things you'd know about me if we met in person.

🏍️
Motorcycles
There's no better way to explore Cyprus than on a motorcycle. The roads around Cape Greco and through the Troodos mountains are some of the best riding in the Mediterranean.
✈️
Travelling
Living in a holiday destination means you appreciate other places differently. Travelling has taught me what tourists actually want β€” and what they're missing when they come here.
πŸ’ͺ
Working Out
Training keeps me sharp. Early mornings in the gym, then usually a walk with Roxy along the coastline before the tourists are up. That's when Ayia Napa is most beautiful.
🌊
The Sea
I grew up in the water. The sea caves, Cape Greco, Konnos Bay β€” these aren't tourist attractions to me. They're where I spend my free time. That's why the guides feel real.

Meet Roxy πŸ•

Roxy is my German Shepherd and the unofficial mascot of ChatCyprus. She comes with me on morning walks along the Cape Greco trails, knows every hidden path down to the sea caves, and has better local knowledge than most tour guides.

She also clearly has better taste in sunglasses than most tourists. 😎

If I'm slow to reply early morning, it's because Roxy and I are probably somewhere between the sea caves and Konnos Bay watching the sunrise. There are worse reasons to be offline.
