Two price rows per car: the first row is standard insurance (€300–€600 excess). The second row is full insurance with zero excess — slightly higher daily rate, complete peace of mind. 1-day rentals are available on most models at a slightly higher daily rate.

Tips Before You Rent —

✅ What to know before you pick up
- Full insurance is worth it — Cyprus roads are narrow in places, parking is tight, and the excess on standard insurance is €300–€600. Full insurance costs a little more per day but gives complete peace of mind.
- All our cars are automatic — no need to worry about driving a manual in an unfamiliar country.
- Cyprus drives on the left — same as the UK. If you're from a left-hand traffic country, give yourself 10 minutes to adjust.
- Book early in July & August — availability on specific models gets limited in peak season. WhatsApp us as early as possible to reserve your car.
- Bring your driving licence — EU licences are accepted. Non-EU visitors should bring an International Driving Permit alongside their national licence.
- Licence requirements — you must either hold a driving licence for at least 3+ years, OR be at least 25 years old. One of the two is enough.
- Deposit in high season — during July and August a small reservation deposit may be required to secure your booking. This is deducted from your total on collection. WhatsApp Alex for details.
🗺️ Where can I drive in Cyprus?
You can drive anywhere in the Republic of Cyprus — Ayia Napa, Protaras, Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, the Troodos Mountains. Cyprus is a small island and very easy to explore by car. Larnaca Airport is about 45 minutes from Ayia Napa. Nicosia is about 1 hour. Paphos is about 2.5 hours. Note: the northern part of Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) requires separate insurance — ask us if you plan to cross.
What are the requirements to rent a car in Ayia Napa?
To rent a car from The Drivers Rentals you must meet one of the following: hold a driving licence for at least 3+ years, OR be at least 25 years old. One of the two conditions is enough. EU licences are accepted. Non-EU visitors should bring an International Driving Permit alongside their national licence.
Can I drive into North Cyprus (Turkish-occupied area)?
We strongly advise against crossing into the Turkish-occupied north in our vehicle. Our insurance does not cover anything that happens on the other side — if the car is damaged or has an issue there, you are fully liable for the full cost. There is also very limited mobile signal in parts of the north, making it difficult to reach us or emergency services.
If you want to visit the north, the best options are:
1) Drive to Nicosia (the capital), park on the south side, and cross the border on foot — it's easy and well-organised.
2) Book a guided excursion that handles everything for you — transport, crossing, guide included.

Do you rent cars for just one day in high season?
In July and August we prioritise minimum 2-day rentals. Single day rentals are available outside of peak season without any issue. If you need just one day in high season, WhatsApp Alex — we will do our best to accommodate but availability is limited.
Is a deposit required to reserve a car?
In peak season (July and August) a small reservation deposit may be required to secure your booking — this protects your spot and is deducted from your total when you collect the car. Outside of peak season no deposit is usually required. WhatsApp Alex for details on your specific dates.

How much does car rental cost in Ayia Napa 2026?
From €38 per day for a Nissan Micra on a 4–7 day rental. Family cars start from €50/day, SUVs from €70/day, the convertible from €80/day and the Mercedes E-Class from €95/day. All prices include VAT and basic insurance.
Is insurance included in the price?
Yes — basic insurance is included in all prices. The excess is €300 for economy/family cars and €600 for SUV, executive and cabrio models. Full insurance with zero excess is available at a slightly higher daily rate (second price row in the table above).
Are all cars automatic?
Yes — every car in our fleet is automatic. No need to worry about driving a manual gearbox in an unfamiliar country.
Can I rent a car for just one day?
Yes — 1-day rentals are available on most models. The daily rate is slightly higher for single-day rentals. Best value is a 4–7 day rental which gives the lowest per-day price.
Do you deliver the car to my hotel?
WhatsApp us and we'll discuss the best pickup arrangement for your location. We're based in Ayia Napa and can usually sort a convenient collection point.
What's the best car for a family of 5?
The Toyota Sienta (Model D or E) is the most popular family choice — spacious, comfortable and great value. For larger families or groups with luggage, the Nissan Serena (8 seats) is the best option.
What's the most popular car to rent?
For couples, the Renault Megane Cabrio is incredibly popular — driving with the roof down along the Cyprus coast is one of those experiences. For families, the Toyota Sienta. For groups, the Nissan X-Trail or Serena.
