The best part about renting a buggy is getting to places no taxi will take you. Here's where locals actually go:
- Cape Greco National Park, Sea caves, dramatic cliffs, the best coastal views in Cyprus. 10 minutes from town.
- Konnos Bay, Hidden cove between Ayia Napa and Protaras. Crystal clear water, no crowds in the morning.
- Fig Tree Bay, Protaras, One of the best beaches in Europe. 20 minutes by buggy along the coastal road.
- Makronissos Beach, West of Ayia Napa, quieter than Nissi, easy to miss by car. A 10-minute ride through the back roads.
- Ayia Napa Old Town, Park up and explore the 16th century monastery, the harbour and the local tavernas.
"The road is fine but the hills catch people out. If you're heading to Cape Greco, get at least a 400cc. The view is worth it, but you want to arrive in something with enough power to enjoy the drive."
