Alex's Honest Take

The quad safari is one of the best things you can do in Ayia Napa that isn't the beach. Up to 3 hours through Cape Greco, the sea caves and the viewpoints — you see parts of the coastline that most tourists never reach. It gets dusty and bumpy on the off-road sections, which is half the fun. Don't wear anything you care about. My recommendation: book the morning session — the light is better for photos and it's cooler than the afternoon in July and August.

The Route

Where Does the Safari Go?

The up to 3-hour guided tour covers the most spectacular stretch of coastline in Cyprus — combining on-road riding with off-road sections through Cape Greco National Park.

Quad bikes lined up at Cape Greco Ayia Napa coastline
1
Hotel Pickup & Quad Station
Picked up from your hotel 30–45 minutes before the tour. At the station you receive your quad, helmet and a full safety briefing. First-timers get a driving lesson — the quads are automatic and very easy to handle.
2
Ayios Epifanios Chapel
First stop — a hilltop chapel perched above Ayia Napa with panoramic views over the town and coastline. Dedicated to Saint Epiphanios, Bishop of Salamis, this is one of the most photographed viewpoints in the area. The surrounding ruins of an ancient Byzantine settlement make it even more special. Plenty of time for photos. Learn more about the chapel →
3
The Sea Caves
500 metres of dramatic natural limestone caves carved into 10-metre cliffs along the Cape Greco coastline. One of the most spectacular landscapes in Cyprus. No swimming here but the views are extraordinary — the light through the cave arches at different times of day is unlike anything else on the island. This is the section that makes the morning session so special.
4
Agioi Anargiri — The Sea Cave Chapel
One of the most unique religious sites in Cyprus — a small white chapel built directly into a sea cave on the Cape Greco coastline. Dedicated to the Agioi Anargiri (the Holy Unmercenaries — early Christian healers who treated the sick without payment). The coastal setting is spectacular and most tourists never find this spot. Learn more →
5
Love Bridge
The iconic natural rock arch stretching over the sea — one of the most photographed spots in Cyprus. Legend has it that couples who kiss on the bridge are blessed with eternal love. The views along the Cape Greco coastline from here are breathtaking. A must-stop for photos.
6
Agioi Saranta — The Cave Church
The final stop — a remarkable cave church cut into the rock face of Cape Greco. Inside you'll find forty niches carved into the walls, each representing one of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. A sacred spring inside the cave is believed to have healing properties. One of the most atmospheric and unusual sites on the island. Learn more →
7
Back to Hotel
Return to the quad station and drop-off back to your hotel. Total time up to 3 hours from pickup. You'll be dusty, happy and very glad you booked the morning session.

Requirements & Rules

📋 Requirements
  • Category B driving licence (car licence) — a photo is acceptable
  • Drivers must be 18 years or older
  • Passengers must be at least 6 years old
⚠️ Tour Rules
  • Follow the guide at all times
  • Maximum speed 35 km/h for safety
  • 4–5 stops along the route
  • Tours depart daily at 9:30am and 2:30pm

What to Bring

Driving licence (Category B — photo on phone is fine). Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty. Closed shoes recommended. Sunglasses, sunscreen and a bandana or scarf for the dusty off-road sections. Leave valuables at your hotel or in secure storage at the quad station.

⚠️ You will get dusty

The off-road sections of Cape Greco are red dirt tracks. In dry weather the dust is significant. Wear clothes you're happy to wash. The guide keeps maximum speed at 35 km/h so it's always safe — but the off-road sections are brilliantly bumpy. That's half the fun.

Groups & Private Safaris

Stag Do, Hen Party or Big Group?

Groups of 4 or more quads can book a private safari on any day of the week — not just the scheduled Tuesday/Friday slots. Your own guide, your own pace, your own experience. Perfect for stag dos, hen parties, birthday groups and corporate events.

🍺
Stag Do Safari

The quad safari is one of the best stag do activities in Ayia Napa. Book a private group and go off-road through Cape Greco — dusty, loud, brilliant. Combine with a boat party the next day.

💅
Hen Party Safari

More hen parties do the quad safari than you'd expect — it's brilliant fun, the photo stops are incredible and it's something completely different. Great afternoon activity before the evening.

👨‍👩‍👧
Family Groups

Children 6+ can ride as passengers. The route is guided and safe — the guide controls the pace throughout. A genuinely memorable family experience that gets kids off the beach for a morning.

FAQ

Quad Safari Questions

How much does the quad safari cost?
€75 for a single rider (1 person on 1 quad) or €85 for two people sharing one quad. Hotel pickup and drop-off, insurance, helmet and guide are all included in the price. No hidden extras.
Do I need experience to do the quad safari?
No experience needed at all. Full instructions and a safety briefing are given before you start. The quads are automatic and beginner-friendly. Most participants are first-timers — the guide controls the group pace throughout.
Do I need a driving licence?
Yes — a full driving licence is required. Provisional licences are not accepted. You must bring your licence with you on the day. If you don't have a full licence you cannot drive the quad, but you can ride as a passenger with someone who does.
Can children do the quad safari?
Children aged 6 and above can ride as passengers on the back of a quad with a parent or guardian. The driver must be 18 or over with a full licence. It's a great family activity for older children.
What time does the quad safari depart?
There are two daily departures — morning at 9:30am and afternoon at 2:30pm. Hotel pickup is usually 30–45 minutes before the tour start time. The morning session is better in summer for cooler temperatures and better light for photos.
Can I swim during the quad safari?
No — there are photo and sightseeing stops at each location but no swimming during the tour. If you want to combine a swim at the sea caves or Konnos Bay, plan a separate visit on another day.
What happens if it rains?
The tour runs weather permitting. Heavy rain cancels the safari as some of the off-road route is not passable when wet. If cancelled you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
Is the quad safari good for stag or hen groups?
Absolutely — one of the best group activities in Ayia Napa. Groups of 4 or more quads can arrange a private safari on any day rather than the scheduled tours. WhatsApp me for group bookings and I'll sort the best arrangement.
