Alex's Honest Take

The quad safari is one of the best things you can do in Ayia Napa that isn't the beach. Three hours through Cape Greco, the sea caves and the viewpoints — you see parts of the coastline that most tourists never reach. It gets dusty and bumpy on the off-road sections, which is half the fun. Don't wear anything you care about. My recommendation: book the morning session — the light is better for photos and it's cooler than the afternoon in July and August.

The Route

Where Does the Safari Go?

The 3-hour guided tour covers the most spectacular stretch of coastline in Cyprus — combining on-road riding with off-road sections through Cape Greco National Park.

Quad bikes lined up at Cape Greco Ayia Napa coastline
1
Hotel Pickup & Quad Station
Picked up from your hotel 30–45 minutes before the tour. At the station you receive your quad, helmet and a full safety briefing. First-timers get a driving lesson — the quads are automatic and very easy to handle.
2
Agios Epiphanios Chapel
First stop — a hilltop chapel with panoramic views over Ayia Napa and the ancient ruins of Paliochori, a Byzantine settlement. One of the best viewpoints in the area. Plenty of time for photos.
3
The Sea Caves
500 metres of natural limestone caves carved into 10-metre sea cliffs along the coast. One of the most dramatic landscapes in Cyprus. No swimming but incredible for photography — the light through the cave arches is extraordinary.
4
Cape Greco Off-Road
The highlight for most people — heading deep into Cape Greco National Park on dirt tracks. This is where it gets bumpy, dusty and brilliant. The scenery is unlike anywhere else on the island.
5
Lovers' Bridge & Agioi Saranta
The iconic natural rock arch (Lovers' Bridge) and the cave church of Agioi Saranta — a small white chapel perched on the cliffs with a sacred cave beneath containing blessed water. One of the most unique spots on the island.
6
Back to Hotel
Return to the quad station and drop-off back to your hotel. Total time approximately 3 hours from pickup.

What to Bring

Full driving licence (mandatory — provisional not accepted). Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty and dirty. Closed shoes are recommended. Sunglasses, sunscreen and a bandana or scarf to cover your face on the dusty off-road sections — you can also buy one at the station for €5. Leave anything valuable at your hotel or in the secure storage at the quad station.

⚠️ Important

You will get dusty. The off-road sections of Cape Greco are red dirt tracks and in dry weather the dust is significant. Wear clothes you're happy to wash or throw away. The guide will warn you before the dusty sections but there's no avoiding it — and that's half the fun.

Groups & Private Safaris

Stag Do, Hen Party or Big Group?

Groups of 4 or more quads can book a private safari on any day of the week — not just the scheduled Tuesday/Friday slots. Your own guide, your own pace, your own experience. Perfect for stag dos, hen parties, birthday groups and corporate events.

🍺
Stag Do Safari

The quad safari is one of the best stag do activities in Ayia Napa. Book a private group and go off-road through Cape Greco — dusty, loud, brilliant. Combine with a boat party the next day.

💅
Hen Party Safari

More hen parties do the quad safari than you'd expect — it's brilliant fun, the photo stops are incredible and it's something completely different. Great afternoon activity before the evening.

👨‍👩‍👧
Family Groups

Children 8+ can ride as passengers. The route is guided and safe — the guide controls the pace throughout. A genuinely memorable family experience that gets kids off the beach for a morning.

FAQ

Quad Safari Questions

How much does the quad safari cost?
€75 for a single rider (1 person on 1 quad) or €85 for two people sharing one quad. Hotel pickup and drop-off, insurance, helmet and guide are all included in the price. No hidden extras.
Do I need experience to do the quad safari?
No experience needed at all. Full instructions and a safety briefing are given before you start. The quads are automatic and beginner-friendly. Most participants are first-timers — the guide controls the group pace throughout.
Do I need a driving licence?
Yes — a full driving licence is required. Provisional licences are not accepted. You must bring your licence with you on the day. If you don't have a full licence you cannot drive the quad, but you can ride as a passenger with someone who does.
Can children do the quad safari?
Children aged 8 and above can ride as passengers on the back of a quad with a parent or guardian. The driver must be 18 or over with a full licence. It's a great family activity for older children.
What time does the quad safari depart?
There are two daily departures — morning at 9:30am and afternoon at 2:30pm. Hotel pickup is usually 30–45 minutes before the tour start time. The morning session is better in summer for cooler temperatures and better light for photos.
Can I swim during the quad safari?
No — there are photo and sightseeing stops at each location but no swimming during the tour. If you want to combine a swim at the sea caves or Konnos Bay, plan a separate visit on another day.
What happens if it rains?
The tour runs weather permitting. Heavy rain cancels the safari as some of the off-road route is not passable when wet. If cancelled you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
Is the quad safari good for stag or hen groups?
Absolutely — one of the best group activities in Ayia Napa. Groups of 4 or more quads can arrange a private safari on any day rather than the scheduled tours. WhatsApp me for group bookings and I'll sort the best arrangement.
